 BUBLY
"Bubbly" is a song by American singer–songwriter Colbie Caillat from her debut album, Coco(2007). Written by Caillat and Jason Reeves and produced by Colbie's father, Ken Caillat, the song was released as the album's lead single in May 2007. It remains Caillat's biggest hit single in the USA to date, and her only one to reach the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Music video

The single's music video, directed by Liz Friedlander, aired on MTV, VH1 and CMT, and has also been viewed on YouTube over 54 million times (as of October 13, 2010). A still from the music video was used as the cover for Caillat's debut album, Coco. The video/single is also featured in the hit PlayStation 2 karaoke game SingStar Pop Vol 2, released in late September 2008.

Billboard said that "the warm vocals along with a gentle acoustic arrangement effortlessly conjure the idyllic California she calls home".^[4]

In Australia—where "Bubbly" was used in a promotional video for Seven Network's soap operaHome and Away—, it reached number one on the ARIA Top 50 Singles Chart. It also fared well in New Zealand, where the single reached number six on the composite singles chart. On the issue date of October 6, 2007, "Bubbly" rose from number sixteen to number ten on theBillboard Hot 100, later ascending to number five where it was locked for seven weeks. It also spent 14 weeks atop the Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks as well as 19 weeks atop the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks. However, at the year-end chart, the song ended at #2, behind another long time running song by Sara Bareilles, "Love Song" which also spent a longevity at #1, In Canada, Montreal's CJFM-FM was the first Canadian radio station to play the song, and other Canadian radio stations began to do so as well. It peaked at number two for three weeks on theCanadian Hot 100. It also reached number nine on CMT Canada's Chevy Cross Canada Countdown, despite not being a predominantly country song. The single has been certified platinum, with sales of more than 2.6 million downloads.^[5]
